There are various trail runs, training runs and races available to those who live in the Cairns Region. Anyone is welcome to join in.
Dynamic Running also caters for road runners and provide training for beginners through to ultra runners. Visit their website for dates of upcoming road races, including the Dynamic in a Dress Running Festival.

5 November 2017: Atherton Forest Trail Race.
19 November 2017: Black Mountain Training Run
26 November 2017: Black Mountain Trail Race. 21.1km or 35km
The race follows the Twin Bridges track (East Black Mountain Road), 27 kilometres from the Kennedy Highway and re-joins it 2 kilometres from the top of the Bump Track. Closed by gates at both ends, it is a multi-use track for trail runners, walkers and mountain bikers. Motor vehicles, trail bikes and horses are not allowed on this track.
3 February 2018. Smithfield Trail Race, approx. 5.5km.
29 April 2018: Speewah to Cedar Park (Day 1 of 3M3D) training run.
13 May 2018: Marathon 2 of 3M3D training run.
27 May 2018: Kauri Half Marathon training run (16+ only, conditions apply).
17 June 2018: Cairns Marathon training run.
13-15 July 2018: 7th Tailwind Nutrition 3 Marathons in 3 Days – 3M3D, Cairns Marathon, Kauri Half Marathon.
26 August 2017. 8th Kuranda to Port Douglas Ultra Trail Marathon Race. 64km; 64km relay (2-4 runners); 16km Bump to Beach. This Point-to-Point race starts just off Kennedy Highway in Kuranda and follows Black Mountain Road that runs through native rainforest, open eucalyptus forest, pine plantations and crosses picturesque creeks. It is a scenic course incorporated in the Mowbray National Park within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. The pyramid-shaped Black Mountain is a prominent feature of the race. The tropical rainforest is home to the endangered southern cassowary, a flightless bird that can grow to two metres in height.
