Changes to the 2025 3M3D event include:

• The start / finish for Marathon 2 has been moved to Crystal Cascades.

• Marathon 3 starts in Koah and finishes at Goomboora Park in Cairns.

• Compressions bandages are mandatory on all three days.

• A GPS tracker and transponder (supplied by event organiser) are mandatory on all three days.

• There will be minimal signage on the course, carrying your mobile phone or GPS device (e.g. InReach Mini2) with access to AllTrails app are mandatory on all three days.

• Fig Tree Half Marathon, Fig Tree 10km and Lake Morris Road races have been discontinued due to low competitor numbers and inaccessibility to the start line at Copperlode Dam.

Welcome. Our 3M3D 2025 event will take place over the Cairns Show Holiday weekend from Friday 18 July to Sunday 20 July. Registrations will open towards the end of November.

The female race was always going to be a good one this year. Five of the top 10 runners today were female. With only a 20-odd minute gap separating positions 2-5 in the ladies, the race is on.

Note to those diving there on their own: VERY LIMITED parking and VERY NARROW road. Do not block driveways. Find a safe place to park that leaves enough space for vehicles to get past. Carpool if driving.

Pick-Up Location: Greenslopes Street, opposite the Rondo Theatre (by the new Chinese Friendship Gardens).

Destination: Skate Park, Kamerunga Road.

At this stage we are still waiting for our Letter of No Objection from Cairns Regional Council. Once we have approval for our proposed Cairns Marathon / Marathon 3 course on 30 June, we will update you.
